The Titanic Collection

On 10th April 1912, RMS Titanic set sail from Southampton's White Star Dock on her maiden voyage to New York.  My Great Great Uncle Ernest Portage Tomlin boarded Titanic at Southampton.  He was returning to Drake University, Des Moines to continue his studies in Theology.  His body was recovered from the ocean by the Halifax Cable ship Mackay Bennett on 15th April and later buried at sea.

This collection of original abstract paintings is inspired by Ernest's story, the stories of other passengers and crew, and that of the "unsinkable" ship.  Here you will discover paintings with texture and light all of which were created at my studio in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
